HYGIENE APPOINTMENTS TO COMBAT BAD BREATH
It’s a problem that affects up to a quarter of adults on a regular basis and about 50 per cent of us suffer from this embarrassing condition at some point in our lives.

Bad breath is usually caused by a build up of bacteria in the mouth as a result of food debris, plaque or gum disease. It often occurs after eating strongly flavoured foods such as onions and garlic. Smoking and drinking a lot of alcohol can also cause your breath to smell unpleasant.

However, good dental hygiene can prevent bad breath. Schedule an appointment to see one of our dental hygienists to make sure your breath is as fresh as it can possibly be.

TEETH WHITENING FOR THE PERFECT SMILE
Yellow, stained teeth can be a source of embarrassment meaning a reluctance to smile, since your smile is so important it would be a shame to hide it. There are ways we can help you achieve perfect, pearly white teeth in time for Valentine’s Day.

Our whitening treatment removes dental stains from drinking coffee and red wine, smoking, or the unavoidable natural ageing process meaning your teeth will look whiter and brighter so you can impress people with your sparkling smile.

Book an appointment to discuss teeth whitening options and let us help you achieve that perfect smile.

INVISALIGN TO CORRECT CROOKED TEETH
The value of having a confident smile is priceless, feeling self-conscious about your teeth can restrict you from achieving your best whether it’s socialising with friends or working in professional environments.

Many people are born with crooked teeth or, in some cases, develop crooked teeth with age due to the structure of the mouth changing or through tooth loss resulting in movement of the remaining teeth.

Invisalign achieves beautifully straight teeth with no feelings of self-consciousness during treatment due to the virtually invisible aligners. There is minimal impact on your busy schedule and the aligners can be removed when needed.

If you, like many others, thought it was too late to fix those crooked teeth - you’re wrong. Book an appointment at the Smile Centre to discuss your Invisalign treatment options.

New Year Dental Resolutions

Did you know poor oral hygiene could affect the rest of your body?
Did you know oral health presents clues about your overall well-being?

Oral health can affect both your physical and emotional well-being by causing an impact upon appearance, relationships, diet, nutrition and speech. Poor oral hygiene leads to a number of conditions such as plaque, gingivitis, periodontitis, halitosis, tooth decay and cavities.

By making one simple resolution to take care of your oral health, you can avoid suffering from dental discomfort and greatly improve your physical and emotional well-being.

Banishing old habits can be difficult but with a little helping hand achieving those New Year goals is easy. That’s why we are here to help you stay on track, providing support and guidance on oral health care, making you happier and healthier for the New Year.

Address outstanding issues.
Everyone is guilty of putting off those less than pleasant concerns, however, dental issues should not be ignored, whether it’s a broken, chipped or missing tooth, teeth whitening, a gap that needs closing between teeth, or even bad breath - stop ignoring those dental issues and get them seen to at the Smile Centre surgery.

Regularly visit your dentist.
Regular visits to the dentist means early signs of dental problems can be identified and addressed before they increase in severity. Waiting until you feel dental pain or discomfort is a bad idea, making sure you keep on top of your oral health with regular appointments could mean the difference between keeping a tooth and losing one.

Floss regularly.
Cleaning between your teeth helps prevents a build-up of plaque bacteria on the teeth, since 80% of cavities occur in the grooves, or pits and fissures of the teeth it’s highly recommended you floss at least once a day. Have your teeth professionally cleaned. Visit one of our hygienists who will clean your teeth in areas that are difficult to reach during routine brushing, removing any tartar that can develop on even the most immaculate teeth. They also provide excellent oral health advice to help prevent everything from tooth decay, erosion, gum disease and brushing techniques.

Smile more.
Smiling is good for the heart, it can reduce stress levels and lower the heart rate. Your smile is unique to you - show it off.
